Rich Products Corp. recently recalled 160,200 pounds of Farm Rich Pizza Cheese Crunchers over the possible presence of metal fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall covers 6,408 cases of the frozen snack items, and affected products should not be eaten.
The recalled Farm Rich product is identified by lot number 003029976 and UPC 041322652256. Those possessing the product are advised to discard it.
Rich Products initiated the recall on May 19, and the FDA designated it as a Class II recall on June 9. The agency uses that classification when use of, or exposure to, a product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, while the probability of serious adverse health consequences is considered remote.
Neither Rich Products nor the FDA has publicly disclosed what led to the possible presence of the metal fragments.
