In other news, Yum! Brands Inc. agreed to sell Pizza Hut, excluding Mainland China, to LongRange Capital for $2.7B in the aggregate. The company’s Pizza Hut business in Mainland China will be acquired by Yum China Holdings Inc. Full Story
Elsewhere, despite the agreement between the U.S. and Iran, a wide-ranging decrease in prices is not expected in the near-term. It will take time for oil and gas supplies to return to normal and other commodities to get where they need to be. Marty Bauer, director of ecommerce at Omnisend said: “Fertilizer shortages will affect crop yields for months to come.”
And lastly, distributors have begun asking restaurants to help pay for high fuel prices with fuel surcharges. US Foods CFO Dirk Locascio noted that diesel prices were up 60% in 2026, but many restaurants are having difficulty affording the surcharges, reported Restaurant Business. Full Story
