Food Institute Collaborates with Specialty Food Association on Live Summer Fancy Food Show Coverage

The Food Institute (FI) – a trusted source for food industry news, data, and trends since 1928 – is partnering with Specialty Food Association (SFA) to provide comprehensive, live event coverage at the 2022 Summer Fancy Food Show, June 12-14 at the Javits Center in New York City.

SFA, the owners of the Fancy Food Show, selected FI for the pilot broadcast project to facilitate highly-interactive, multi-dimensional experiences for both in-person and virtual audiences. Live coverage will include the following:

  • Event hosting from a centrally located booth (i.e., “SFA Media Center”)
  • Reporting from expo halls, exhibitor booths, and pavilions
  • Virtual exchanges with online audience
  • Interviews with SFA staff, exhibitors, industry insiders, trendspotters, and select sofiTM – award winners

The on-site coverage team will be anchored by Susan Choi, FI’s Director of Digital Media. Susan is a veteran TV journalist whose resume includes stints at ABC News and NBC News. FI will also have a team of on-the-ground reporters and analysts conducting live interviews and providing commentary on the latest trends that could shape the specialty food industry in the months and years ahead.

“The Fancy Food Show is one of the most reputable food industry events of the year,” said FI CEO Brian Choi. “I’m excited to partner with SFA to help bring a fresh new content experience to both in-person and virtual attendees through great journalism, creative programming, and the latest technology.”

“We’re so pleased to collaborate with a trusted source like The Food Institute to expand our coverage of the Summer Show and use new content platforms to showcase the products, trends, and news that make it the premier specialty food and beverage event in the industry,” said Denise Purcell, SFA vice president, content and education.

Attendees can experience the livestream via YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. In-person attendees can also visit the SFA Media Center, Booth 6721 on the show floor. Participants can ask questions and leave comments both in-person and virtually.
