A Closer Look at Frozen Fruit

Import, Export Volumes Drop

Both imports and exports of frozen fruits exhibited a drop in quantity during the Jan. 1-Feb. 28 period despite increasing value during the period, according to Food Institute analysis of Bureau of Census data.

Frozen fruit imports reached 143.4 million lbs., down 8% from the period in 2021. However, value was up 9% to about $155.6 million. Similarly, frozen fruit export volume dropped 5% to 23.1 million-lbs. despite a 24% increase in value to $32.9 million.
