Elsewhere, a new report suggests that AI may not bring on a job crisis, but a workforce “mismatch” could. The Indeed report argues that AI will deepen a skills and location mismatch between available workers and the jobs that are growing. Meanwhile, CAVA reported a 9.7% increase in Q1 same-store sales, outperforming several of its fast-casual competitors. The results come as higher-income restaurant spending remains stronger than lower-income traffic, reported Restaurant Dive. Full Story

Fusion flavors, experimental beverages, and a renewed appetite for real meat dominated the 2026 National Restaurant Association Show, making it clear that consumers want bold flavors, flexible formats, and familiar indulgences elevated with fresh ideas. FI Focus

And lastly, a Pizza Hut franchisee said AI caused $100M in damages. Franchisee Chaac Pizza Northeast has sued the franchisor, alleging the chain’s Dragontail AI system caused “cascading operational breakdowns,” slowed order times, and disrupted integrations with third-party delivery, reported Restaurant Dive. Full Story
