Chef Melissa Araujo | Honduran Roots in New Orleans

Signature Dishes: Aguachile Negro & Moros y Cristianos
Melissa Araujo, a 2024 James Beard Best Chef South semifinalist, is the visionary behind Alma Café in New Orleans. With her roots in Honduras, Melissa’s dishes are a soulful fusion of her grandmother’s traditional recipes and the bounty of Louisiana’s culinary offerings.

Araujo’s menu features iconic Honduran dishes such as Baleadas, Pollo Chuco, Fritas Hondureñas, and Chicharron con Yuca, all enhanced with modern techniques. Alma Café, which translates to “soul,” serves as an ode to Melissa’s family and heritage while being a testament to her journey in the competitive New Orleans food scene. Her rise from apprentice to celebrated chef illustrates her deep passion for cooking and determination to share Honduran culture.

Chef Eileen Andrade | A New Take on Cuban Cuisine

Signature Dish: Amelia’s 1931 Tuna Aguachile
Andrade has made her mark on South Florida’s culinary world by reinventing Cuban cuisine with a contemporary twist. From her humble beginnings operating a food truck to now owning multiple successful restaurants, Eileen’s innovative dishes showcase her Cuban roots while embracing new flavors and techniques.

Her ventures include Finka Table & Tap, Barbakoa by Finka, and her latest concept, Amelia’s 1931. Eileen’s creative flair is evident in dishes like Tuna Aguachile, a flavorful take on Cuban cuisine. Recognized by Zagat Miami’s 30 Under 30, Eileen is known for her dedication to preserving the essence of Cuban food culture.

Chef Luciana Giangrandi | Michelin-Starred Magic in Miami

Signature Dish: Pappardelle alla Lepre
Luciana Giangrandi co-owns and leads the kitchen at Michelin-starred Boia De, an intimate restaurant tucked away in Miami’s Little Haiti. Her journey in the culinary world began in respected New York restaurants.

Luciana’s passion for delivering high-quality dishes in an approachable setting led to the creation of Boia De, which received a Michelin star for two consecutive years. Known for her handmade pastas and expertly crafted dishes, Luciana also opened the Walrus Rodeo restaurant.

Leticia Fernández de Mesa | Spanish Flair in Vodka

Signature Drink: Strawberry Frida
Though not a chef, Leticia Fernández de Mesa, the founder of UNA Vodka, earns recognition for her innovative spirit in the beverage industry. Born in Spain and now based in Miami, Leticia’s vodka is uniquely infused with botanical flavors such as begonias, orange blossoms, and vanilla flowers, creating a refreshing and aromatic spirit. Launched in 2022, UNA Vodka has quickly gained popularity in states like Florida, Texas, and California. Leticia’s artistic background as an art dealer informs her aesthetic approach to branding, making UNA Vodka not only delicious but also visually stunning.
