Top 4 Value Meals of 2024

Fast food used to be enticing because it offered comfort food at cheap prices. Today, that’s not necessarily the case. Inflation has hit every industry – with restaurant chains being no exception. As a result, the perceived value of fast food has dissipated in the eyes of many consumers. Recent value meals have softened that perception, however.

In 2024, many QSRs have gotten creative as they seek to win back customers. From hearty breakfasts to value meals that’s more than half off, here’s a look at four fast-food deals that captured the attention of consumers.

Millennial Marketing

Panera recently overhauled its menu and featured a menu item targeted toward those born between 1981 and 2003: avocado toast.

On July 31 – National Avocado Day – Panera launched a special deal specifically aimed at Millennials offering a free avocado toast item with any purchase. For those that missed out on the campaign, every millennial’s favorite breakfast item is still a solid deal, starting at $3.49.

Banking on Variety

Sonic has added a value menu of its own: The Fun 99 menu, featuring a large selection of items, such as cheeseburgers and wraps for just $1.99 per item. This offering sets itself apart by offering a wide variety of menu options. Sonic customers can try many different things and mix and match something new every time they visit the chain.

Starting the Day Off Right

For just $3, Wendy’s is offering a breakfast deal featuring its English Muffin.

The deal includes the choice of either a Bacon, Egg and Cheese English Muffin or a Sausage, Egg and Cheese English Muffin paired with a small order of Seasoned Potatoes. The deal was created to boost breakfast visits at the chain and hasn’t disappointed, aided by a humorous ad campaign.

Taco Bell Chimes In

Taco Bell’s Luxe Cravings Box is quite possibly the steal of the summer, as it is 55% cheaper to order this than the items individually, according to Eat This, Not That.

The Luxe Cravings Box includes a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Double Stacked Taco, a Chalupa Supreme, Chips and Cheese, and medium drink. The deal is being offered for a limited time through September.

This year’s so-called “value wars” have heated up right along with the weather – and they show no signs of cooling as fall approaches.
