October 7 2024 – The Well professional network, a growing membership-based organization committed to empowering the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and wellness community, highlighted two recent events for its members (including brand founders, investors, industry advisors and other stakeholders) plus special guests that took place September 18th and 24th in New York City.
- On September 18 RestauRent, an online hospitality booking platform that facilitates discovering and reserving private event spaces for any occasion, co-hosted a CPG industry networking event at Marsanne NYC, a Chelsea-based restaurant specializing in wholesome, organic Adriatic-inspired Mediterranean cuisine.
- On September 24, Glimpse, the first E2E (End-to-End) deductions service powered by AI, teamed up with The Well to sponsor an evening of networking at Fushimi Times Square (a RestauRent partner featuring modern Japanese cuisine). Glimpse Co-Founder/CEO Akash Raju was on-hand to moderate an informative panel exploring “AI Tools and Best Practices for CPG Brands.”
- Panelists included:
- Sandra Velasquez, CEO/Founder of Nopalera, a Mexican-inspired maker of bath, body wash and related products.
- Brian Deck, Chair/CEO of Smooth Commerce, a digital ordering, customer marketing and loyalty platform specializing in the restaurant, hotel, sports, and food marketplace verticals.
- Elizabeth Hemphill-Burns, a fractional senior sales and business development strategist and consultant to multiple CPG-focused organizations.
- Zach Martin, Managing Director/Head of Originations and Capital Markets at Assembled Brands, a provider of asset-based lending to growing CPG brands.
- Panelists included:
“Since pitching RestauRent at The Well’s NY TechWeek event back in early June at D’Angelico Guitars Showroom we have been very pleased with our growing alliance with their member-based network,” stated RestauRent Co-Founder Will Tondo. “We look forward to continuing to host some of The Well’s in-person events at RestauRent partner locations as we further expand our footprint across the U.S.”
Glimpse Co-Founder/CEO Akash Raju, said: “We have been impressed with the level of CPG founders and related industry professionals, investors, advisors and stakeholders attending The Well Network’s unique and bespoke events, and that was one of the key factors in us joining as one of their first corporate supporters earlier this year. Glimpse is focused on saving retail-first consumer brands money as our AI-based platform helps valued clients navigate deductions and streamline the reconciliation process in a more cost-effective manner, and our messaging has been resonating with members of The Well.”
“It was a pleasure attending and participating as a panelist at The Well Network’s wonderful AI-focused CPG brand event during Hispanic Heritage Month,” said Sandra Velasquez, Nopalera’s CEO and Founder. “As a Latina-owned brand we are proud to embrace our Mexican roots, including utilizing the Nopal cactus in a number of our product formulations. Nopalera is also continuing to spread its reach beyond our core customer community on our growth trajectory.”
Smooth Commerce Chair and CEO Brian Deck, added: “I’ve only known about The Well Network since attending their NY TechWeek event in June, but during that short time I have been extremely impressed with their organization, including its founders, members and their guests. A unique ‘pay it forward’ collaborative mentality defines their in-person events, making them well worth organizing my travel plans from Toronto, alongside business in New York and other U.S. cities, on multiple occasions.. Smooth Commerce’s growth plans – from being primarily hospitality-focused to serving the larger CPG community, in general – are uniquely aligned with The Well’s own expansion.”
“As an organization providing CPG brands with the requisite capital they need to grow and succeed, we see tremendous value in supporting The Well Network and its many constituents,” said Zach Martin, Managing Director of Assembled Brands. “Exploring timely topics such as best practices of navigating artificial intelligence’s impact across the industry are of great value and I was delighted to participate in that recent discussion.”
Supporting sponsors at The Well Network’s September 24 NYC event included leading organic Japanese Green Tea manufacturer Ito En and Al’s, a NYC-based classic American non-alcoholic beer
- LA Tech Week October 15-17, three events including Entrepreneur Ventures (October 15), The Well Founding Partner Happy Wellness (October 16), and Litquidity Ventures (October 17)
- November 16 in Washington, DC with Foster Garvey PC at Union Kitchen
