Today’s consumers are increasingly seeking out products that support their gut health and wellness goals – and many of these individuals are also taking GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy for a variety of reasons, including weight loss and diabetes management.
While this has increased the demand for products that are rich in fiber and protein but low in sugar and carbs, many traditional formulations contain ingredients like gluten or whey protein, making them off limits for individuals following plant-based diets or living with conditions like celiac disease.
However, there are plenty of allergen-free options currently on the market that do meet these requirements.
Breakfast
1. Brekki Overnight Oats
Available in 11 flavors, brekki’s overnight oats are 100% vegan and gluten-free. And while the sugar, protein, and fiber content varies among flavors, the original version contains:
- 4g fiber
- 7g protein
- 7g sugar
2. Catalina Crunch Protein Granola
Catalina Crunch founder and CEO Krishna Kaliannan, who has type 1 diabetes, started his company to support others living with the condition, which can make it difficult to find products like cereals, which are notoriously rich in carbs (and gluten), that don’t spike glucose levels. To address these challenges, the brand debuted Protein Granola.
Each serving offers:
- 13g protein
- 8-9g fiber
- 1-2g sugar
3. Forager Project Plain Greek-Style Yogurt
Forager Project just launched a vegan Greek-style yogurt with 10 grams of protein, plus six gut-friendly live and active cultures, per serving – but no dairy, fillers, or added sugars.

Available in Hickory BBQ, Salt & Vinegar, and Ranch flavors, each bag of kosher, gluten-free chips provides:

6. Favalicious Fava Bean Pasta
Nuttee Bean Co. introduced its latest protein-packed product under its Favalicious brand – a gluten-free fava bean pasta offering an impressive 19 grams of plant protein and 16 grams of fiber but just 13 grams of net carbs per serving, making it an appealing option for individuals living with diabetes and/or taking GLP-1 medications.
Beverages
7. Premier Protein Almond Milk Protein Shakes
Premier Protein recently added Almond Milk Non-Dairy Protein Shakes to its ready-to-drink lineup, which are available in Chocolate, Vanilla, and Coffee (with the caffeine equivalent of one cup of coffee) flavors and pack a whopping 20 grams of plant protein per bottle.
8. Seeds of Wellness Chia Milk
Last spring, Chile-based manufacturer Benexia debuted Seeds of Wellness Chia Milk, which is reportedly the first plant-based milk made from whole chia seeds. The beverage is free from dairy, nuts, gluten, and soy, with each serving delivering a hefty portion of omega-3 fats, four grams of fiber, and three grams of protein but zero grams of sugar.
9. Whole Moon Coconut Whole Protein Milk
While coconut milk has become fairly commonplace at this point, Whole Moon recently launched the first variety made with whole coconut meat but no oil, cream, or other parts. The kosher, gluten-free, and dairy-free beverage provides three grams of fiber and five grams of complete protein per serving.
10. Minus Coffee Instant Vanilla Oat Milk Latte
This latte is made with upcycled, plant-based ingredients like dates and grape seeds but zero coffee beans. However, it offers some caffeine (about half that of standard coffee), plus six grams of protein and functional ingredients like L-theanine to improve alertness without a cortisol spike or energy crash.
11. Laird Superfood Protein Instant Latte
On a semi-related note, Laird Superfood launched a protein instant latte mix featuring a blend of functional mushroom extracts and 10 grams of protein derived from plant-based sources, including peas, hemp seeds, and pumpkin seeds.
