In other food and beverage news, dollar stores now account for 6.5% of American household calories, roughly double 2008’s 3.4%, according to a recent report. Although dollar stores tend to sell less healthy food, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics report found that these households still shop other stores for their healthier purchases, reported ABC News. Additionally, Danone is targeting consumers trying to lose weight with GLP-1 drugs as it launches an Oikos-branded drink. Danone said the product will help the common concern among GLP-1 users of losing muscle rather than fat as it will be a protein-rich beverage option, reported Reuters. Full Story
