AI-powered CPG manufacturing platform Keychain has appointed Mitchell Madoff to head of retail partnerships. The former head of Whole Foods’ private label offerings brings with him an extensive background in CPG spanning over two decades.
By categorizing thousands of specific processes and capabilities for over 10,000 manufacturers, Keychain gives brands and retailers the ability to execute on incredibly specific searches for their latest product lines across over one million SKUs.
At Keychain, Madoff will couple his wealth of CPG supply chain knowledge with his experience working closely with private-label brands to build new partnerships. He will help introduce more brands and retailers to the platform and hopes to continue working toward increased transparency for all players in the CPG ecosystem.
“We started Keychain with a really deep understanding of how hard it is for brands and retailers to find great manufacturers to work with,” said Keychain CEO Oisin Hanrahan in a recent FI Spotlight. “I think your relationship with your manufacturer is one of the most important relationships you’re going to have — if not the most important.”
Previously, Madoff was the senior VP, supply chain, private label and culinary at Foxtrot.
Foxtrot was well-established as a source for curated specialty goods from independent food and beverage producers prior to its abrupt closure in April.
Madoff also spent 20 years at Whole Foods where he most recently served as the VP for exclusive brands. Throughout his tenure, Madoff worked closely on the development of the Whole Foods 365 brand and other private-label products.
“I’m excited to be joining Keychain during an exciting stage for the company and take part in their expansion within the CPG space,” said Madoff in a statement. “Having access to a tool like Keychain during my time at Whole Foods would have greatly enhanced my experience.”
