Five months after his first appearance on the Food Institute Podcast, John Dunham of John Dunham & Associates takes the economic pulse of the nation again. Dunham explores the current economic situation in the U.S. in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and argues that Bureau of Labor Statistics modeling doesn’t fully encapsulate the true unemployment situation in the country. The conversation covers the prospectus for grocery retailers, food manufacturers, and foodservice operators as the fall continues and the winter begins. Additionally, this economic pulse episode discusses federal interventions that could help the nation’s restaurants and what effect the election could have on the food industry as a whole.
