The Food Institute tracked 47 executive changes at food companies during January, compared to 41 a year ago. Thirteen women, including three CEOs or presidents, were included in that total, versus 12 in January 2017 when four women became CEOs or presidents.
By individual industry sectors, there were 17 executive changes at manufacturers versus ten a year earlier, including four women in 2018 and two in 2017.
At retail, there were 13 executive changes, down from 14 a year earlier, but women accounted for six of those spots, versus just one a year earlier. They included Monica Garnes becoming president of Kroger Co.’s Fry’s Division, and Susan Morrison becoming EVP/COO at Albertson’s Cos.
These changes also included Scott McGinty being named president at Aurora Organic Dairy, Nick Hampton CEO at Tate & Lyle and George Frahm president at Stater Bros.
