Food Institute Announces Staff Changes, Website Redesign

The Food Institute promoted Jennette Rowan to marketing director and James Hickey to managing editor. In addition, Sarah Veit was added as a business writer.

Jennette has been with The Food Institute since 2013. In her new position as marketing director, she is responsible for promoting all Food Institute books, seminars and webinars, as well as writing and editing the Food Institute’s annual publications. Additionally, she writes for and edits the daily news update, Today in Food, and contributes to the weekly Food Institute Report. She has a background in non-profit and environmental marketing, programming and writing, and graduated from Rowan University in 2012 with a degree in Communication Studies.

James began working at the Food Institute April 2014 as business writer. As managing editor, he will oversee the editorial content of The Food Institute Report as well as manage the editorial staff for both the report and the website. James has over 25 years of editorial experience as a writer and editor with North Jersey Media and The Daily Racing Form.

Sarah has more than 10 years of experience as a writer and editor, with a well-rounded knowledge of the food industry and business-to-business research content. Sarah’s background includes an editorial role at Convenience Store News magazine as well as a page editor position at The Gannett Company, where she edited print content for 17 USA Today Network newspapers across five Northeast states. Sarah is currently working on her MBA at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

In addition, The Food Institute recently redesigned its website! The new site features a modern look that allows for members to more easily navigate between the foodservice, manufacturing and retail sectors. Additionally, the site prominently highlights editorial features so members can get the latest breaking news in the industry.

The website delivers insights on new products, crop markets, legislation, customer demographics, mergers, food industry statistics, trends and more! The Food Institute is your best “single source” for current, timely and relevant information about the food industry.
