Demographics of Consumer Food Spending, 2017 Edition
For the past three years at the Food Institute, I've been tasked with compiling the data for our annual Demographics of Consumer Food Spending book. Using the most recent data available from the Bureau of Labor statistics, we take an in-depth look at how people are spending their money on food.
The book provides an easy-to-read breakdown of spending on food overall, food at-home (in 24 categories & sub-categories including beef, poultry, fruits & vegetables, dairy products and bakery products) and food away-from-home. Topics covered include age, income, career, education, race, gender and region of the U.S.

Chris focuses on fresh, canned and frozen fruit and fresh and dried vegetables for the Food Institute Report. In addition, he assists in compiling data for various Food Institute publications throughout the year.
